- Synopsis
- Goyo Carrizo was born on October 21, 1960 in Villa Fiorito, a marginal area of Buenos Aires. Nine days later, in the same place, Diego Armando Maradona was born. At the age of seven, life in the neighborhood and the irrepressible passion for soccer would bring them together on a field, where they would become inseparable friends. A short time later, Goyo and Diego formed the front of the "Cebollitas", a children's team that went down in history for being practically invincible. Those who saw them play debated which of the two children was better, the one with the “9” on their back, or the one with the “10”. The wonders that both did with the ball astonished everyone. Together they began their professional career in the lower divisions of the Argentinos Juniors club. Diego, always with the “10” on his back, fulfilled his dream of reaching the First Division and from there he built a path of success. For Goyo the destination was another.
