A few hours before she dies dies in a car accident Jayne Mansfield drops an LSD pill as she goes onstage in the cheap cabaret where she has been forced to perform. As the acid kicks in, each of the songs she sings brings her back to different episodes of her tumultuous life.

- Synopsis
- From the nice Catholic girl that identified with Joan of Arc, to the technicolor archetype of the “dumb blonde” and the self-proclaimed poster girl for free love, Jayne's last act becomes a revelatory trip filled with haunting memories.
  
  Of those memories the most vivid is the time in Rome when she was shooting "The love of Herkules" while frantically trying to persuade Fellini to cast her in "La Dolce Vita"
  
  Jayne creates a "dumb blonde" persona from which she has tried to escape, obsessively pursuing great directors that could show her talent and range. But for Jayne it may be too late to take off the mask that has become a haunting curse.
