    • Synopsis
    • A small, solitary universe. An apartment where time has stopped. Where darkness governs and silence reigns. Where the most important dogma is the weather report blared out over a cheap TV set. And where an orange canary that never sings is the epitome of life.
This is where Rosa lives. The owner of an 81-year-old soul. The old woman at the back.
In the front of the building is another universe, also solitary. Empty of ornaments and devoid of any useful objects.
This is where Marcelo lives. A young man from the countryside. A penniless medical student. He has no friends, and no-one to help him survive in the city.
A fragmented building, divided into small apartments, in the middle of the city of Buenos Aires. A speedy, large, robot-like, impassive city.
They both live in the same building, invisible one to the other.
Rosa has been resigned to her solitude a long time, to hear only herself. To be the exclusive narrator of all the stories that nobody else listens to.
Marcelo has learnt very quickly that the city is indifferent. That to work all day is not enough. That to return to his home town seems the only way out.
A stuck elevator, and a meeting take place.
Everything changes, becomes transformed and is made new when those two minute universes mix, intermingle.
It seems that both have something to offer each other.
She offers him a roof over his head and food, for no charge.
He will have to listen and talk with her daily.
For a while, those two small worlds co-exist in an even smaller apartment. An apartment that will witness the unbridgeable distance between these two.
