    • Synopsis
    • Sônia is a woman burdened by childhood trauma, who feels invisible in her marriage to Agenor, a devout man and loving father to their young daughters.
      They live on a remote farm at the border between the Amazon Rainforest and the Brazilian Cerrado. Each year, Agenor departs on a 40-day religious pilgrimage, leaving the family isolated in the harsh backlands.
      This year, however, he invites a distant nephew to help Sônia with the grueling daily chores and protect the family in his absence.
      But the arrival of the mysterious man stirs unexpected desire and tension in Sônia. Her eldest daughter, Maria Luíza, begins to sense something sinister about the man and must warn her mother before tragedy strikes. Inspired by a true story.
