    • Synopsis
    • It’s August, in Nice.

That night, two young men on a scooter are hit by a black Mercedes which has just run the red light.

It is driven by Youri, a young Franco-Congolese man raised in Monaco. A brilliant writer, his life is nothing but a succession of successes. His wife Noémie, a business lawyer at the Monaco bar, is with him in the car. In this moment when time seems to stand still, she declares that she is pregnant.
Youri no longer thinks, notices in his mirrors the absence of witnesses and commits the most cowardly of crimes, the hit and run.

Arriving just after him on the scene, Antoine. Pastor of the Anglican church in Nice, he is a faithful husband and the father of two young daughters: Mathilde and Margot. As a good Christian, he can only stop when faced with the tragedy that has occurred, and be concerned about the health of the two young men on the ground.

Unfortunately, Paul, who slowly recovers from the shock, mistakes the pastor for the driver who hit them and explodes his head with a violent blow from his helmet. The pastor dies instantly. Paul and his friend run away.

This street which seemed empty, however, was not. A witness was indeed present, helpless despite his police badge, hidden in an unmarked surveillance vehicle. Officially, Eli was never supposed to be there at that time, in fact he wasn't there, since he was hiding clandestinely on behalf of his former boss.
Impossible to intervene, when he only wants one thing, to do his real job as a police officer. If he had been able to intervene perhaps the pastor would not have died. But he had to be a cop in a system so corrupt that cops don't even do real cop work anymore, and are in the service of... he doesn't even know what anymore...

Mathilde, the pastor's youngest daughter, has understood that if there must be God, only the offspring of chance and luck can occupy this seat.

This film retraces the last months which lead each of these characters towards their divine destinies and their final collision, under the constant influence of the only God whose existence we have proof of, Murphy; whose law of the same name is defined as follows:

Anything that can go wrong, will go wrong.
