- Kazuya Mizuno was sent to Kaname village, a small village far west of Japan with the highest birth rate in Japan. He was a newspaper reporter who had been sent to the village as he hadn't been able to fit into mainstream journalism. Kazuya met the strangely magnetic owner of a snack bar, Teruko.
