- Synopsis
- The four friends Gerard, Leo, Kees and Nico brotherly work together in Gerard’s garage in Rotterdam, The Netherlands. Unfortunately business is not going too well. To save their garage, they need 40.000 euros fast. Junior employee Youssoef suggests that the four men should participate in the Rotterdam Marathon
  and find a sponsor. They agree and Youssoef becomes their coach. But initially the training sessions are a farce. The condition of the smoking, drinking, cake eating men, who play cards most of the day, is abominable. Also, their home situations are not very cheerful. Every one of them has their own problems back at home.
  Despite coach Youssoef’s inspiring leadership, the men seem unable to keep up with his tight training schedule. The first real test, a run in Amsterdam, becomes a complete disaster because the men get there far too late and they don’t even start, because they can’t resist the temptations of the city. After a lecture of Youssoef, the guys persist and they even become rather fanatical. However, while training for the marathon, it becomes clear there is more at stake than just saving the garage…
