- Synopsis
- Winter, 1943. Martina, 8,is the only child of a poor farming family. When years earlier her new born brother died in its crib, Martina stopped talking. Now her mother is pregnant and Martina waits for the baby to arrive. The war slowly draws nearer and life becomes increasingly difficult, squeezed between partisan brigades and the advancing Nazis. The baby, a boy, is finally born on the night September 28°,1944. A date when the SS carry out an unprecedented round‐up that goes down in history as the Marzabotto massacre.
