JACKIE UMPHREY owns the hippest bar in Beverly Hills called ”The Lounge”. It is a famous spot for celebrities & people from all walks of life because of it’s low key atmosphere.

Forty years ago JACKIE ran away from home and followed The Rolling Stones
tour out to California. His car broke down in the parking lot across from
Dodgers Stadium just in time for the last show of the tour. Penniless, clueless,
and much higher then he should be, JACKIE begins to panic. He sits on the side
of road depressed wondering how he will survive in Los Angeles. Just then
a limousine pulls up and asks him if he is OK. The window rolls down to reveal
a kind elderly man name ELIJAH, who offers him a job at “The Lounge” and rents him a bed in the back room.

Many years pass in a blink and JACKIE becomes the manager. ELIJAH has no family, so on his death bed he signs the “The Lounge” over to JACKIE.

ELIJAH’s dying wish is for JACKIE to never close or sell ”The Lounge”, and to sign the bar over to someone new when he retires. ELIJAH wants to ensure that lost souls like him always have a Sanctuary.

The pilot opens with JACKIE having just handed over ownership to an eccentric Czech Woman name ZSA ZSA, who has helped manage the place for years. JACKIE has again moved into the back room of the bar and mentors ZSA ZSA.

He is the “Willy Wonka” of Beverly Hills with a lifetime supply of Booze instead
      of Chocolate.

The Show harkens back to the Jimmy Stewart film “Harvey”.
