    • Synopsis
    • Inspired by a true story, THE LIGHT FANTASTIC is an uplifting, funny and vibrant romantic comedy set in the hugely popular world of ballroom dance. Featuring an irresistible soundtrack of popular hits, spectacular dance sequences, and witty one-liners, this feel-good crowd pleaser stars Jeremy Irvine as Jason, a thirtysomething gay firefighter who dreams of becoming a professional dancer.

Set in the heart of contemporary Blackpool – the home of ballroom dance – THE LIGHT FANTASTIC follows Jason as he competes alongside his best girl friend Shona, under the close watch of his ultra-traditional instructor Reynolds (Everett), and against the wishes of his disapproving, macho boyfriend Sean. Jason has always struggled to reconcile his sexuality with the flamboyant world of dance, but his carefully compartmentalised life is thrown into chaos when he is approached by Marco (Stewart-Jarrett), a handsome fellow ballroom afficionado, and his hilariously outspoken friend Reece (Williams), for dance classes.
