    • Synopsis
    • In the Leos Janacek's opera "The Makropulos Affair" we learn that during the end of the XVI century, Emperor Rudolf II gave his alchemist Hieronymus Makropulos the task of preparing a potion that would extend his life and ordered him to test it on his daughter, Elina, who lived since then 300 years becoming one of the best singers of all time.
Jorge Lavelli, the celebrated régisseur and theatre director, went to Buenos Aires to direct the opera "The Makropulos Affair" while a documentary film about the production was filmed. Right after the opera opening at the Colon Theater, the filmed material disappeared mysteriously. Twenty three years later, Lavelli finds the documentary stock and discovers finally who stole the tapes and why.
