- Synopsis
- Johann has inherited the family cattle farm, which is part of a collective agricultural community in the foothills of central France. Utterly committed to his work, he takes solace in nature and comfort from a local woman to help him through the myriad challenges of managing a farm on his own while looking after his fragile sister, who is recently returned from a care home. The pressure from others in the collective to sell out to a wealthy local landowner is mounting daily. The head of the co-op, the principled Johann stands alone in the community. But then his barn goes up in flames. The insurance policy is void because he did not keep up with mandatory inspections. Soon it seems as though all he knows and loves may be lost…
