    • Synopsis
    • JASON, a Colorado State Trooper, takes refuge from a blizzard at "The Last Stop Cafe and Motel." A newspaper on the seat of his 4x4 informs us of a bank robbery that took place in Vail a few days ago. Inside the Motel, Jason meets the owner FRITZ, and his wife MAGGIE, who introduce him to the motley group waiting out the storm in the Motel's diner. Amongst the guests are CARL, a dark and handsome traveler, JODIE, his sexy young companion, TIM, a black trucker, and JAKE and ROY, two red-neck brothers who've had one too many beers. To his surprise, Jason recognizes another of the guests, NANCY, his high school sweetheart whom he hasn't seen in six years. As Jason announces to the group that no one can leave until the highway is reopened in the morning, the power goes out, leaving the group in the glow of the emergency lights. Fritz and his autistic nephew, LESLIE, make their way outside to check on one of the empty motel rooms. Inside, Fritz finds a timberwolf gorging on puddles of fresh blood. Everyone is accounted for except two honeymooners who checked in early that morning. Jason and Fritz search their room and realize they are missing. As the guests wait in their rooms, Jason begins a thorough investigation of the premises and finds a corpse in a dumpster behind the motel. Inside the diner Leslie notices a figure outside burying an object in the snow. Waiting until the figure leaves, he digs up the object and takes it to Fritz and Maggie. Meanwhile, Jason contacts his partner PETER on the radio and asks him to check on some leads with the FBI. Peter says he will try and get to the motel in the snow cat as soon as possible. Fritz, Maggie and Leslie discover that the object is a bag full of cash. They are overheard by Jake, who has come to steal a beer from the bar. When they leave to get Jason, Jake steals the money and later decides to hide it in Tim's truck; but as he does, Jake is ambushed and killed. Meanwhile, Fritz informs Jason about Leslie's find. They return to the diner only to realize that the money is gone. Jason sets out to where Leslie dug up the money and comes across a pack of wolves tearing at a corpse. On closer inspection he sees that it is the body of the missing female honeymooner. Shortly after, Jason's partner Peter arrives, explaining that the FBI suspects that the dead couple was working with the bank robbers. Inside the motel, nerves are on edge and a fight ensues between Roy and Tim. During the brawl, the suspect escapes with the money in the snow cat and Jason follows in hot pursuit. But whether the prime suspect escapes or is apprehended, is second in question-to who was the second bank robber-still at the motel?
