    • Synopsis
    • Based on the personal story of a Palestinian ex-political prisoner, this film explore the struggle of a contemporary artist , who become sexually impotent upon his release, and must come to terms with his dark past. Palestine. The young lovers Ahmad and Ameena, coming from different class, decide to get married despite strong objections from her parents. Then, Ahmad is arrested by the Israeli soldiers on their wedding night for subversive activities, and he spends the next ten years in prison. After his release, he returns to his wife, but as an impotent man. After two months, his wife leaves him, while he refuses to see a doctor for fears of causing a scandal. While he realizes that the causes for his impotence are psychological, he falls into deeper despair. 10 months later, on the day of the anniversary of his release and their 11th wedding anniversary, Ahmad’s young self, from ten years earlier, emerges from the mirror and starts to debate. While he tries to avoid the issue of imprisonment, the scene of his interrogation starts to reemerge. His confession causes the death of his friend under torture. He comes to understand that Ameena will not return, not because of his impotence, but because of his cowardice. He decides to end his life with the aid of his young reflection, to give Ameena the chance to come back to the other Ahmad, the pure Ahmad who does not carry prison within, but who remains totally open to the choices of life.
