- Synopsis
- The Last Fortress, starring Yurdaer Okur and Deren Talu, is supported by the Ukrainian Ministry of Culture, and is a historical film telling a story of war and love at Hacibey Castle and the struggle with the Russians. Ottomans on the North Black Sea coast during the Russo-Turkish war in the 18th century. The Ottoman Empire and the Danube Siçi are fighting Russia for the northern Black Sea coast. Hacibey Castle remained as the last castle in his hands. Tuna Siçi Kozaks sent Andrey, named Kozak, to Ahmet Pasha, the castle commander, with a letter containing a very important secret message about the war. Ahmet Pasha's influence on the sultan is great, he can send this letter from the sea to the sultan. However, Hacibey was caught and the injured Ahmet Pasha was thrown into prison. Fatma, the only daughter of Pasha from a Ukrainian woman, survived. Pasha sends Fatma to a secret village with vineyards between the Dniester and the Danube. On the way, Russian soldiers attack Fatma, but Andrey helps Fatma. Meanwhile, Andrey is injured and Fatma brings him to the vineyard. Andrey is about to recover and continue on his way, but Fatma stops him by reporting that "Hacibey has been captured". Andrey will be able to do this through Fatma, who is in charge of sending Kozak's letter to Istanbul, but someone has to go there. After director Konstantin Konovalov introduced the actors and film crew, the movie was screened. Turkish and Ukrainian actors took part in the film shot in Odessa, Ukraine. For the first time Ukraine will be making a movie released in Turkey. Film, on October 15 in Ukraine, will be released in Turkey on 23 October.
