- Synopsis
- Pishak, a teenager with Asperger syndrome from the Amazonian Awajun ethnic group, has just turned 16 and is preparing with the wise elders for his initiation rite to become what he longs for, to be the successor of Samik, his father, a brave warrior, capable of leading his village.
  
  He chooses one of the most challenging rituals, jumping from a rock more than 200 meters high, with a cloak of feathers, into a deep pool. It depends on this alliance that men and birds continue their path in harmony. Faced with unexpected news, Samik travels to Bagua to meet other Awajún leaders and face a new attempt by the State to appropriate their sacred lands, rich in hydrocarbons.
  
  After that, some messengers alert the arrival of the police to the community. Old Etsá, the shaman's grandfather, flees. The police are looking for him, also for Samik and his son to kidnap and blackmail him. Pishak camouflages himself as a laborer for a logging company to go unnoticed. By assuming another identity, the young person will see his path to spiritual maturity frustrated.
  
  After a long journey through the mountains, Pishak arrives in Lima, and through a relative, he learns that his father has been captured. Unable to return home, the young man, who claims to understand the language of the birds perfectly, hears an imperative demand from them to comply with the pact, to jump inexorably to conclude the ritual.
  
  Meanwhile, newspaper reports report a very unusual fact: the birds have massively stopped flying. Tired of receiving abuse in the city and in order not to break his alliance with the natural world, Pishak paints his skin in colors, dresses in the style of ancient warriors with an improvised cloak of feathers, and decides to consummate his destiny, jumping from the tallest tower in the capital to spiritually become a bird. His body was never found.
