    • Synopsis
    • ROSE KERWIN, 17, bright and pretty, is miserable about the cross-country move she was forced to make with her architect father, who couldn’t be more excited about his plans to restore their ineptly remolded Victorian home back to its original design.

Strange things begin to happen in the house. When she finds out that a girl named RACHEL WAKELY used to live in the house and was not only reported missing, but their peculiar neighbor was a prime suspect who was later vindicated, Rose sets out to prove his guilt.

As she unravels the truth, the odd happenings in the house escalate. She sees a ghost—like figure in the windowless storage closet in the basement, which she believes is Rachel. After confronting her creepy neighbor about Rachel’s disappearance, Rose is proven wrong by the neighbour’s daughter, LEILA. Rose’s dad threatens additional psychiatric treatment, something she endured after her mom died.

Her only comfort is NOAH HENRY, a boy her age who has a summer job painting her house.

Armed with fresh insight obtained from Noah and Leila, Rose’s suspicions turn to the previous owner of the house, CHERI GARRISON – a one-time pillar of the community who took Rachel in and inexplicably left town shortly after Rachel’s disappearance was ruled a runaway. Rose finds Rachel’s diary hidden beneath the floorboards. In Rose’s mind, the cryptic entries further implicate Cheri. Her father only sees it as more proof that Rachel did in fact run away and that Rose is suffering from deeper psychological issues. But Rose knows better, and she’s got to figure out whats really going on with her house before someone else disappears.
