- Synopsis
- Lucy Boyle is an African American anthropologist who chooses New Whitby as the perfect place for her research: a small multiethnic town where violent acts have not occurred for decades. She moves with her family in the town: the husband Norman and the little Bob. The mayor of New Whitby and the town’s Doctor is Dr. Jacob Freudstein. The Freudstein family have held the secret to immortality for close to nine centuries, with each generation destined to curse the next with the punishment of eternal life. Due to his position, Jacob is often a tough authoritarian and is especially hard on newcomers to the town and with Lucy investigating the town’s history, he is worried about her finding out about his family and their bloody legacy.
  Lucy is getting closer to the truth as the whole community feels the threat of her curiosity and family. The Boyles must disappear. Unless they become part of the New Whitby curse.
  When Freudstein's son is killed in a freak accident, he faces the ultimate conundrum for any parent, lose his child, or bring them back – breaking his commitment to ending the curse, and being ready again to curse those who have committed such a crime.
