    • Synopsis
    • 'The Hole in the Sky' a sci-fi coming of age story about a young girl's journey into a post-apocalyptic world ravaged by climate change. In the near future, much of the planet has become inhabitable, the upper-classes have relocated to off-world colonies, though they still rely on the Earth’s natural resources. Those that remain either toil for the fossil fuel companies or are just barely surviving out in the wasteland. But for 12-year-old Alma, the only world she knows is her sheltered home where she does chores, takes care of her younger sister, Lottie, and waits for her father to return home once a month from his job on one of the rigs. One day her father goes missing and Alma is forced out of the only home she's ever known. She's thrown into a dangerous world - forced to use her cunning, wit and growing sense of self to ensure her and her sister's survival and to find their father.
