- Synopsis
- Tashibana is fourth best assassin in Japan, working for the Doors of Darkness, a society which disregards all the petty politics of the underground world, killing anyone for a high price. Tashibana kills all of his target’s underlings in order to reach the targeted room. But when he gets there, he finds the top assassin, Zuo Wei, has beat him to the job. Frustrated, Tashibana challenges Zuo Wei to a duel, which Zuo Wei refuses. Dismayed and regarded as the killer of the target by wider society, Tashibana leaves Japan for Hong Kong, where he befriends the Peace Society and Milk-Boy. Tashibana thrives in Hong Kong, quickly becoming a Red Pole, gaining the trust of many big bosses. But one day, he finds that someone is following him, and learns that an assassination order is on his head. Tashibana returns to Japan to learn that all the assassins of The Doors of Darkness are after him, hired by Left Ear, the brother of the man he allegedly killed. He learns that the only way to cancel a kill order is for the client to die, and so Tashibana begins to plot Left Ear’s death. When Tashibana catches up to Left Ear’s car, he finds Zuo Wei in the front seat. The two face off, fighting to the death. Just as Zuo Wei is about to make the kill, he gets a call: Left Ear is dead, the kill is off. Milk Boy had come from Hong Kong, recognized Left Ear at the airport and killed him on the spot. Tashibana is moved by Milk Boy’s loyalty and returns to Hong Kong to fight the good fight with the Peace Society.
