    • From the very start of civilisation – and probably even before – rivers have been the lifeblood of trade and travel. Just about every city of note around the world – and especially across Europe – was first established beside a river.

      Rivers have inspired art, literature and music. They have been the source of legend, myths and folklore. Their flowing waters not only sustained life, but enabled connections with a wider world, facilitating the flow of ideas, theories and beliefs, the very building blocks of society. So, it’s not surprising that we connect so deeply and innately with rivers, from romantic encounters to adventurous escapades.

      Australian soprano Greta Bradman is a recitalist, concert and stage performer. Since commencing her professional career in 2010, primarily as a concert classical singer, Greta has presented more than 1,000 performances with orchestras, including all major orchestras in Australia.
