Synopsis
Amongst many travelers to the same destination, few merely walk, few really live the experience and few actually gain wisdom in their Journey.
‘IDAK’ is a moving story of Namya, a thirty-two-year-old man who is still a child at heart. Adhering to his mother’s wishes, Namya embarks on a journey to a Ritual Fair (pilgrimage) to please Mother Goddess who appeared in his mother’s dreams; convincing her that she is required to sacrifice a goat, if she wants Namya’s life to make a turn for the better.
Aiming at questioning the blind-faith of God-fearing folk, the narrative follows this mother-son duo and how the events that follow transform and impact their relationship with each other and themselves. The narrative follows Namya’s journey through the picturesque landscapes and beautiful mountains resulting in an unspoken bond between him and IDAK — the goat. The theatrics of the goat, the formidable tie between the two and the insightful journey changes something within Namya. Torn by the dilemma of either having to defy his dear mother’s wishes, someone who has made innumerable sacrifices for him or the emotional unrest of allowing his newly found friend, to be sacrificed for his betterment - ‘IDAK’ is a heart-wrenching journey of the wisdom of a boy from a small village.
