    • Synopsis
    • For several years, Horacio Garcia, Ramón Maddoni, Diego Mazzilli, and former players Hugo Perotti and Norberto Madurga have constituted the talent scouting team for Club Atletico Boca Juniors, Argentina's most popular football team.

While holding massive try-outs at Boca's field and special try-outs outside Buenos Aires, these recruiters tour minor league clubs, Baby Football fields and amateur matches, looking at over 40 000 boys every year in order to discover Argentine football's next big stars.

While it's beyond doubt an activity that moves millions of dollars, these experienced scouts carry out their duty in a direct and artisan way, making the most of their football instincts, sharp eye and street smarts.

Every player try-out is about a dream. A boy's dream to play for the club they love. The parents' dream to solve their sometimes tough financial situation. But it's also the scouts' dream, to find the players who stand out, those who dribble recklessly, those who always risk a bit more.

"The football boys" is an observational documentary that, through wit and good humour, depicts one year's worth of the scout team's activities.
