  In 1987, in Siberia, a discovery redefines the future of humanity. During a hunt, Soviet Yuri finds four human bodies that have been frozen and preserved for 38,000 years in a permafrost cave. Seeing an opportunity to make a fortune, Yuri's greedy cousin Vladimir kills Yuri and secretly sells the prehistoric bodies to members of a secret society that has been searching for the secret of eternal life for decades.
  
  American Daniel Pearce and his girlfriend Amber Jones team up with a young, skilled Russian named Dimitri Fedorov to smuggle the bodies but in fact only manage to take one. In an improvised and risky operation, the prehistoric young man is transported to Romania, where he is resurrected in a secret laboratory by the doctor Tepes Flamel and his wife Shimeka.
  
  After a long time in a coma, the young man called Ignatius begins to communicate. The French government fights for him, and with some maneuvering manages to deliver him to the care of Dr. Fabrice Jacquemont, in a secret part of a hospital specializing in motor recovery in the south of the country. In France Ignatius is no longer just a body; in fact he begins to become a man, a conscious being who upon realizing that he is a prisoner of science, a human experiment, starts to yearn for a normal life. At the same time extraordinary events, including his viewing of rupestrian cave paintings, help him recover precious memories, and he discovers that his story has a surprising connection with the oldest sculpture of them all: the Lion Man, on display at the Ulm Museum in Germany.
  
  Realizing the possible link between the research carried out in Germany and the mysterious French project, the German government manages to send researchers to France to secretly follow the work of Dr. Jacquemont. As if that were not enough, agents of Dimitri Fedorov, now a billionaire owner of an advanced immortality center, are watching Ignatius' every step - and could capture him at any moment.
