- Synopsis
- Reeling from an unintentional hit and run, upper class women Soraya (45) goes into hiding at her family's abandoned house off the Sinaï shores in Egypt. She meets Orfi who is stranded there after a failed sea crossing. Tragedy continues to follow them when a freak accident results in Orfi's sudden death. The next day at dawn, Omayma, Orfi’s mother appears. She is looking for him. Fearing that he has already left, Omayma wanders the shore. Overwhelmed by grief and guilt, Soraya hides his death but feels compelled to comfort Omayma, accompanying her in the fruitless mission of finding her son.
  
  Short Statement by the Director
  The FireHouse is an analysis of the relationship my mother and I developed over my adult years. At a time when I was starting to carve my own path that did not echo with what she had imagined. She told me then “I dreamt that you were in a tiny room in a house on fire, I came to save you and you refused to leave with me, you told me that this is where you wanted to be, you broke my heart.”
