    • Synopsis
    • The savage Battle of Shanghai is drawing to an end and the National Revolutionary Army seems doomed to failure. It has started to retreat while the “Eight Hundred Heroes” led by Commander Xie Jinyuan (Hu Xiaoguang) stay to defend the Si Hang Warehouse. By accident a group of draft dodgers Duanwu (Huang Zhizhong), Hubei (Zhang Junyi), Goat (Wang), Iron (Jiang) and Abacus (Zhang Yi) are caught and forced to join the defence while across the river the residents of the posh foreign concessions watch indifferently. However, the fearless bravery and sacrifice shown by the Chinese army soon exerts an influence on the draft dodgers and civilians who take up weapons and lend their support.
