- All fourteen-year-old Robbie ever wanted was a family. Yet, as another summer begins, his wayward mother has run off again fearing a breakdown, and he's left to burn the days caring for his half brother, Fess. As the days and nights pass without his mother's return, Robbie must face losing Fess to social services or his dangerous older brother Lucas who has plans of his own.
