    • Synopsis
    • A FAMILIA DIONTI is a lyrical family drama, set in the rural interior of Brazil and infused with magic realism. It depicts a striking part of the Brazilian countryside, rarely seen in cinema and tells a universally engaging tale about first love, loss and personal transformation.

On a farm deep in countryside, Josué has brought up his two sons alone, since his wife disappeared into thin air after a passionate love affair with another man. The boys have grown up to be teenagers, while he has spent years waiting patiently for her to return. Life has been manageable, until first love strikes his youngest son. Kelton literally starts melting due to his passion for a circus girl who is temporarily studying at his school. His condition becomes so extreme that he is hospitalised and Josué fears that the same fate as his wife is going to befall Kelton. Josué is so determined to save his son that he takes extreme measures that even risk him losing custardy of the boys. However, Kelton only falls more deeply for Sofia. When the time comes for her to leave town, his unstoppable feelings of first love mean that everybody has to transform in some way.
