    • Synopsis
    • Piotr Chmieliński, an avid canoeist, had as early as in the 1970’s only one dream: to be the first man to canoe down the Amazon River. When he was given an opportunity to do so, Piotr abandoned his student life in communist Poland, promised his fiancée that he would come back soon, and joined an expedition to South America to conquer some of the continent’s rivers. Meant for up to one year, Chmieliński’s expedition turned out to last for the rest of his life.
