    • Synopsis
    • Gustavo Salazar Pineda. Criminal lawyer. Advocate of the most famous drug lords in Colombia. He lives in his own flesh and blood a profoundly affected, criticized and violent age, the one between the 60’s and the 90’s. He spends over 30 years risking his life at trials, being victim of multiple exclusions, threats and attempts on his life.
Being a simple man from the country, this lawyer begins to fulfill ideals and dreams that are as big as they are unreal. On the same street where he lives, a generous and noble man appears. His name is Santiago Ocampo Zuluaga who turns out to be the founder of the Colombian Mafia. This millionaire’s qualities really influence Gustavo, generating a
      strange desire of emulation.
The decade between the 60’s and the 70’s is crucial. Drug use boosts thanks to the hippy movement and begins to generate curiosity. Young revolutionaries go after their dreams.
Gustavo leaves his town and moves to the capital so he can consolidate his aspirations. In the meantime, from The White House, President Richard Nixon begins the war against drugs. His speech pretends to stop this horseman of the apocalypse through political,
      economic, legal and military media.
Gustavo finishes his law studies. The big Colombian drug lords consolidate the most powerful industry in the World. On the other hand, the crusade against drug trafficking begins to show results. On this side, Gustavo becomes Pablo Escobar and the Medellin
Cartel defense lawyer, cases for which he is called The Advocate of the Mafia "Abogado de la mafia".
The war grows and with it, terrible confrontations between the drug cartels and the Government forces. The creation of an armed group called "Los PEPES", thanks to the union between the American and Colombian governments and the Cali Cartel seeks to
finish a common enemy off: Pablo Escobar and the Medellin Cartel. In less than a year, they kill countless family members, drugs lords and lawyers until they finally find where the big fish is. Gustavo manages to escape death but not far enough to escape the pain
caused by the assassinations of his partners.
Fearing for his life, Gustavo is contacted by the people who are Pablo Escobar’s ultimate enemies. With the Medellin Cartel out of the picture, the Cali Cartel takes over power.
This lawyer, who at the beginning of his career dreamt with some kind of professional acknowledgement, becomes the first lawyer to defend the two cruelest cartels in the world.
Gustavo Salazar Pineda. The personification of an age, of the non-conformist, dreaming, and adventurous adolescents moved by the generation that starts with the hippy movement, the marihuana and cocaine consumption and the proclamation of a life from
      their parents’.
This is his story, his clients’, his accomplices’, and also the one of some of us.
