    • Synopsis
    • It is a feature-length documentary film that tells the story of the Argentine composer of contemporary academic music resident in Berlin Rodrigo Maturana, and his efforts to develop his work as composer and director of the Ensemble Ugo - a multicultural ensemble founded by him to spread his own music and that of other contemporary Latin American composers and, in general, non-European, while opening up possibilities of life for him and his family in the city.

Secondly, the film seeks to portray the contemporary musical environment of the City of Berlin - considered the capital of this type of music - and the development of the Ensemble in that context.

We will tour the circuit of contemporary Berlin music ensembles with Rodrigo, Alice, Rowan, Venant, Julianne and Pamela, members of the Ensemble UGO, and we will delve into their motivations, trajectories and expectations, before the challenge of playing in Berlin and then play in other European cities such as Zaragoza and Madrid, in Spain and Bari, in Italy.

Last but not least, the documentary seeks to explore how all of the above affects the particular way of conceiving and composing the music of Rodrigo, who has developed synesthesia, i.e. the possibility of seeing the colors of music.

Rodrigo composes, and at the same time tries to develop an original concept that he calls the New Poetics. He brings into play his compositional work in relation to contemporary literature from readings by authors such as Borges, Marechal, Bolaños or Piglia.
