- A struggling gay musician pretends to have been "cured" to take a job as choirmaster for a fundamentalist church, roping in his bandmate to pose as his wife.
  
  Under his leadership the choir soars, but the more successful they are, the more the lie spirals out of control, testing his relationship with his boyfriend, his choristers, his music and himself.
