    • Synopsis
    • Naïve and eager 15 yr.-old Natalie leaps at the chance to contribute to her family’s meager income when she accepts work with one of her father’s suppliers. The family is shocked to discover that the 37 yr. old unattractive boss Walter has seduced Natalie and she is now pregnant. A small Ukrainian Catholic wedding is hastily thrown together and the stalwart community tries to celebrate.

18 yr. old Jewish musician Ben has lost everything after the recent suicide of his businessman father. He has had to drop out of university and is playing music gigs like Natalie’s wedding to survive. During the night’s festivities, a surprise snowstorm sweeps in, downing power lines and sending people home in the fierce snow. Unable to call a taxi, drunken Walter stumbles into the night in search of a vehicle to take his reluctant young bride on their honeymoon.

While Ben and Natalie wait alone for transport, they begin sharing their sad stories as the storm builds and their hearts melt. Chemistry takes over and they begin to explore love and passion they’d never imagined possible. Fearful of his life in an extremely anti-Semitic environment, Ben is terrified when they are discovered in bed in the middle of the night by Natalie’s mother. But instead of making a scene she shocks both young people by leaving her daughter to enjoy what will probably be the only night of love she will ever experience. In the morning she covers for her daughter when Walter returns but insists that Natalie honor the family and leave with Walter. After a lot of challenges, In an unexpected twist at the end, Ben fights for and wins the young girl and they flee to a new life together.
