- Synopsis
- A steady income, a stable life… Katsuhiro Morita, a banker in Tokyo, works hard for his family. But one day, his wife, Chika, takes their son and moves back to her parents’ house in Yamanashi. A year passes by since then. Once a month, Katsuhiro has been visiting the house in Yamanashi, but now, Chika wants him to move there so they can live together again. Meanwhile at the bank, Katsuhiro is put in charge of a customer, an old woman named Namiko Kondo, a notorious troublemaker who calls and pesters her bank rep several times a day. When Namiko finds out about Katsuhiro’s situation, she tells him harshly, “You’re a step away from divorce.” However, she proposes that he go to Yamanashi every weekend to help his father-in-law, Kozo Tabata, work on his farm. She also gives him a notebook for restarting his life, which contains a list of “things he must do to live with his family.” Despite his skepticism, Katsuhiro starts checking off the items on the list.
