    • Synopsis
    • Isolating herself from her family and a history marred by insanity and murder, CLODAGH O’GRADY has forged a new path for herself, one of predictability, security and order. But try as Clodagh might to escape the brutal events of her childhood which killed her father and stole her mother’s sanity, her brother has other plans.

Clodagh’s younger brother, DORAN, won’t let it lie and through a now obsession, is determined to work out what exactly happened all those fateful nights ago. Whilst every other student is embedded in studies or partying, Doran lives in the world of Irish mythology and firmly now believes his and Clodaghs family are inextricably linked to The Banshee myth. Driven by a belief he can save the one parent they have left, Doran sets out by himself to the very spot his family fell apart, resolved to summon and kill the mythological creature.

On the same day, after a business success, Clodagh agrees to join her team on a rare night out. Deep amid the throng of dancers, Clodagh lets the blasting bass line envelop her. There’s a glimpse of the free-spirited youth that once was until the music stops. The Dancers are all gone. Clodagh is alone. A sob sounds behind her. Clodagh turns to see Doran. His head is bowed. Steam rises from his trembling frame. He raises his head. His eyes are red from weeping. His mouth opens. A piercing female scream emerges. Within seconds the room is once again filled with dancing crowds and Doran is gone….

Not understanding what she saw but terrified something awful has befallen her younger brother, Clodagh frantically tries to get in touch with Doran. When she fails to contact him, she rushes to his dorm where her findings only fuel her fears as Clodagh discovers just how much Doran has immersed himself in the dangers of the occult and supernatural.

No longer able to ignore the fact that the O’Grady family history is far from normal, Clodagh is convinced that something horrific has happened to Doran. Afraid that she is about to lose her last remaining family member, Clodagh grabs what she can of her brothers research and sets out to find him before it’s too late. Joined by a group of Doran’s college friends, the group make for somewhere Clodagh thought she would never revisit - her family home where she watched her manic mother bludgeon her father to death - a spot which Doran discovered has seen many suspicious deaths upon the mountain.

In a place where maps no longer make sense and reality itself becomes fluid, Clodagh confronts the worst aspects of her terrible past and faces the Banshee; saving her brother from a terrible fate and reuniting with her mentally ill mother after many years apart.
