    • Synopsis
    • Indian-born computer programmer Sandeep Majumdar dreams about getting promoted, buying a house, and winning the heart of his office crush. When his job is unexpectedly outsourced to Bangalore, the fifty-four-year-old widower calls on bosom buddy and ex-colleague Henry Osgood to help him get it back. They secretly install a remote access in Sandeep’s apartment, tricking his former company into believing that he is really working from India. While Sandeep toils day and night running code, a fair-skinned Delivery Man from the local Indian restaurant dances into his life. During a day-trip to Atlantic City, he starts Sandeep on a spiritual journey back to India. Just as Sandeep is becoming reacquainted with his long-forgotten past, the company discovers the remote access and hauls both Sandeep and Henry into the office. Henry is terminated, but because of Sandeep’s off-the-charts productivity the boss decides to rehire him. Within days Sandeep scores a date with his crush and is named Comeback Worker of the Year. Everything seems to be gelling for Sandeep, until his dream date goes south, Henry gets kicked out of the house, and the Delivery Man dies after a freak car accident. Are these random events, or the karmic consequence of Sandeep rushing back to work, heedless of his friends? The reeling programmer can’t say, but to set things straight he must find a better place in that moral limbo between America and India: a near distant shore where the pie in the sky and the salt of the earth are but two sides of the same coin.
