    • Synopsis
    • An intimate portrait of the unsung, pioneering art collector Ginny Williams (1927-2019), who at the age of 60, started her career in art, and helped to elevate and legitimize the work of women artists, notably, Louise Bourgeois, Yayoi Kusama, Joan Mitchell, Ann Hamilton, Lee Krasner, Agnes Martin, Roni Horn, and many others—in Abstract Expressionism and Contemporary Art during a time when their contributions were often overlooked. The documentary captures intimate conversations between Ginny and the art world before she passed in 2019.

Director Flemming Fynsk has created a captivating portrait of a woman whose spirit and creative vision permeated every aspect of her life and career. The film also features valuable insights from art luminaries such as Amy Cappellazzo (Sotheby's) and Richard Armstrong (The Guggenheim Museum), as well as renowned American artist Ann Hamilton.

On her death, Sotheby’s defined Ginny as a pioneering art collector, who, through her extraordinary collection and unfaltering advocacy, “…worked tirelessly to fill the gaping space left for women artists…”
