- Synopsis
- A minimalistic story of two people — long-time friends and former lovers but no longer young (40 and 50)—who are in an apartment for the entire length of the film to write a screenplay about love. The man and woman come to the apartment to prepare food while they also think out loud about possible scenes for their upcoming screenplay. Their words are a careful response to each other’s ideas, but their long-standing mutual attraction keeps surfacing. They balance on a thin edge in their conversation, hoping not to wound or alarm each other, but wanting also to be frank and sincere in accordance with their age and relationship. This becomes difficult because the feelings they attach to the screenplay’s characters at times resonate with their own. And those are not only feelings of admiration as what they feel is sometimes tinged with pain and regret.
