    • Ten year old Teo travels to a precarious desert driven by his father, whom he had not met until the moment he entered his kitchen with the intentions to take him along on his voyage. Father and son cross the Mexican-US border as illegal immigrants aided by unprincipled “Pollero”. At night in the middle of the Sasabe Desert they are attacked and robbed by bandits. While trying to escape and guard his belongings Teo separates himself from the group, finally when he halts his frenetic runaway he finds himself completely alone and abandoned in the middle of the night. Chuy, a “Pollero” his same age, finds Teo and helps him get out of the desert. Teo then has no option as to wait at Agua Prietas sentry box for his fathers’ inevitable deportation. Day after day he witnesses the return of many defeated men and women on their forced return to Mexico, while his friendship with Chuy grows.
