    • Synopsis
    • An exhausted gangster encounters a specter from his past, a presence without censure, nor even warning, but with a message of inevitability. A set of moral complexities within male relationships where camaraderie, death, hauntings, and the unalterable path of a code of conduct pull a lost man into oblivion. Shot in collaboration with members of the Greek community in Alexandria, Egypt.

      Short Statement by the Director
Tartarus is an experimental fiction fantasy. The project was made in partnership with members of the Greek community in Alexandria, Egypt, that is a disappearing minority. The film is not a reminder of the past and the nostalgic emotional longing, but rather, the characters of the film are haunted by it. With a recipe of fantastical present and a haunting past, I am looking to create an atmosphere that is relevant to the current Arab situation where many might feel like outcasts with a disturbing history.
