    • Synopsis
    • The inhabitants of the South American jungle live together as in any other day. At the harbor built by man near there, boats loaded with trucks and machines arrive. Boats moor. Mr. Oncade is the head of the operation, a man obsessed with his work and worried about the upbringing of his son Tomy, a solitary child without friends. Mr. Oncade works for Mr. Davius, a dishonest milloinaire who lacks time to fulfill the objectives imposed upon him: to dismantle the jungle. The jaguarete, an animal everybody is afraid of, announces to the rest the peril to come: with man's arrival, there will not be trees any more. And without trees, there will not be shadow. And without shadow there will not be water. And without it, life will not exist. Most animals decide not to believe it, but the coati, which has seen them with its own eyes, thinks differently. The coati, assisted by Tomy, who does not agree with his father's plans, tries to stop Mr. Oncade. An intense battle starts, animals are at risk and try to escape. When they escape, they hurt each other. The coati then starts persuading them to fight. The game, the ant bear and the caraja monkey, among others, perceive in the coati's voice an unusual power in them. Suddenly, the animals see the impressive arrival of the jaguarete which stands amicably near the coati. Now, everybody understands that they have to fight together and fervently. All the animals of the jungle start to join together. Meanwhile, the jungle gets fired. The rays and the large-fresh water catfishes join the alligators so that animals can cross the river through its dock, but they know it is not over and it is not enough for everybody to cross quickly and safely. Tomy watches the fire moving forward over the jungle with his father while everybody is preparing their withdrawal from the place. Davius' helicopter, which flied over the fired jungle, lands near Oncade. Davius gets out and smiles happily. Oncade is no longer so sure about having done what he has done, he looks at his son and feels ashamed. After hearing the news, all the animals decide that there is life even under the burnt bark of trees which they have to protect. Groups are set up, each of them with the weapons nature has given to them to defend themselves against their predators. In a complex maneuver which places Tomy's life at risk, the animals finally triumph over human predators. Oncade realises he has not acted well. In the narrow pass, having triumphed and everybody out of danger, Oncade hugs Tomy as well as the coati and the jaguarete while all the animals celebrate around him: the jungle has been saved.
