    • Synopsis
    • A fresh fully bloomed sunflower blossoms up at the sunrise, the whole day basks in the warmth of the sunlight and finally as the sun sets it unwinds itself and achieves the resting position again to follow the same pattern the next morning. The same applies to humans, who have different routines to follow everyday without fail. What if a person is unable to recall the happenings or the routine in a single particular day in his life? How extremely desperate would that individual feel? The same is experienced by the character ‘Sehar’(Ayesha Takia) in our story. She is in this unavoidable situation of not being able to recall a particular ‘SUNDAY’ in her life.
Sehar’s world goes topsy-turvy when she gets a faint clue about the missing Sunday of her life, which reflects a sexual assault or rape on her. The very complicated and jumbled up threads of Sehar’s life is given a sorting up hand by A.C.P. ‘Rajveer’ (Ajay Devgan). He is an honest cop but believes in accepting bribe, his honesty contributes to encouraging a total ‘ban’ on any type of crime by the locals. In the process of solving Sehar’s case it comes to light that on that particular day, different people had interacted with Sehar and amongst this lot, one could be the accused. To name some, the lot includes ‘Ballu’ (Arshad Waarsi), the taxi driver and his friend “Kumar” (Irrfan Khan), a struggling NSD actor, Ritu her close friend, a very scary and suspicious character who resides in Sehar’s society, and the group whom she had come across while partying at the discotheque.
All the while trying to solve this jumble another situation arises where a murder case is brought forward on that ‘Sunday’ and all its clues hold up Sehar to be the culprit.
With a backdrop of twin mystery there are colours added by the comedy spread around by various characters in the film emoting laughter in tense situations.
The gloomy background aims at Sehar to be the culprit and the murderer. Is Sehar the accused? If yes would the life of this bubbly girl be suffocated for the crime? If no, would the actual culprit be put behind bars? Is Rajvir also under the magnifying lens of crime?
One thing is for sure, the missing Sunday reflects the fact that everyday is not Sunday.
