Almost 20 years old and eager to have a good time, Estela sneaks out of her home every weekend to go to the trendiest nightclub among upper class teenagers in Mexico City. But Estela isn’t going there to dance, she’s there working at the women’s bathroom trying to earn enough tips to emancipate from the strict mandates of the Jehovah's Witness community that her family belongs to. She risks getting caught and consequently, being permanently alienated from her family and congregation. Leading a double life isn’t easy, fitting in either, so she will need to learn the codes of this new universe that seems opposite to hers and therefore fascinating. As Estela begins to take more risks, one night she secretly transforms, imitating the girls who attend the club in an urge to belong. Sparks of light in the dark, popular songs booming, tequila shots, gossips and the constant toilet flush will shake up Estela to seek liberation, not only from the constraints of her past, but from the social limits that mark her present, in order to celebrate herself and her birthday for the first time in her life.
