    • Synopsis
    • The comedy Staying Alive is about Marianne (34) who discovers out of the blue that her boyfriend Håkon is having an affair with Frida, a young colleague who makes waffles at work every Friday.Supported by her best friend's revenge tips and wisdom, Marianne stumbles into her new life where she eventually discovers that coziness is overrated, having fun is what matters.
Staying Alive is a drama/comedy about modern divorce. About how everyday life gets turned on its head and about the struggle to maintain a sense of normalcy. About making the days work, adapting, and wishing for the best in spite of the chaos divorce entails. We follow our lead character Marianne for half a year, from when she first loses all that is safe and predictable, and her difficult journey toward a new existence.
The lead characters Marianne (37) and Håkon (38) have been married for ten years. They are a couple whose life together is filled with all the problems and trivialities of everyday life. A breakup is essentially a distant thought because they have children, debt, an apartment and a car. So true hell breaks loose when Marianne discovers that Håkon has been having an affair for some time and chooses to leave her.
The divorce is a fact. This film is about Marianne's journey from Håkon and her loss of a family. About how the world changes and how she struggles to maintain a normal existence. About the fear of what happens if you dare let go and try to find a new holding point in life.
