Taigi Asano (Fuju Kamio), a member of the brass band club of Funabashi Municipal High School. His part, trombone. As a cheerful, kind and passionate young male, Taigi always uplifted the hearts of those around him. Along with his reliable club mates who were always backing him up, Taigi was enjoying his youth. Looking up to teacher and brass band master, Kenichi Takahashi (Koichi Sato) as his mentor, Taigi matures both physically and mentally. He takes up the challenge of writing an original cheering song for the baseball team of Ichifuna (Funabashi Municipal High). Although struggling with the difficulties of composition, encouraged by Mr. Takahashi’s pep talk and best friend, Toma Saeki (Masaya Sano, Ae! group / Kansai Johnnys’ Jr.), Taigi creates the legendary cheering song, “Ichifuna Soul.” This goes on to be called the “god-like cheering song,” as the baseball team starts to score whenever “Ichifuna Soul” is performed. After graduating from high school, Taigi enters a music university, following his dream to become a teacher like Mr. Takahashi. Whilst enjoying his university life, one day, Taigi experiences acute pain and sickness. His test results reveal that his body is being attacked by cancer…
