    • Synopsis
    • Outside the narrator’s door is a man who claims to be Death and says he has come to take him away. But in the discussion that follows Death is surprised to discover that he is unable to make the narrator die. Instead a spectacular road trip follows. Together with his ex-girlfriend Sophia and Death, the narrator sets off to find his mother and his 7-year-old son, whom he hasn’t seen in a long time, although he writes him a postcard every single day.

The journey takes them to heaven and hell – and raises the question as to whether any of this really exists. A journey that is shaped by the clumsiness with which Death deals with the world of the living, and by such questions as: Does Death have to pee? And if so, how? – And is it better “to burn out or to fade away”?

A fast-paced, extremely funny and poignant novel about the really important questions in life.
