- Synopsis
- The murder of a renowned gynecologist, doctor Simic, took place under strange circumstances. He was on duty in the hospital when he received a call from the telephone exchange. The telephone operator gave him a message asking him to go to his apartment at once. The woman who left his message gave her name to the operator… Later, during the investigation, the switchboard operator could only remember the first name. She forgot the surname… Inspectors from the department for murder and sexual crimes found the door to the doctor’s apartment open. They discovered an injection in the study. The carpet had absorbed the liquid from a broken ampoule of morphine whose glass fragment were scattered around and glittered in the light… The revolver from which the doctor was killed was not found. Everything is put in action. The most modern technique, human experience, supposition, theories, facts… The investigation of the Secretariat for Internal Affairs strangely resembles an analysis of an interrupted game of chess…
