    • Synopsis
    • SOFTBOY is a coming of age movie that shines the spotlight on a relatively minor sport -- boys’ softball. The story takes place in a high school in Saga, where the impulsive Noguchi realizes that there isn’t one school in the entire prefecture with a boys’ softball team. He instantly concludes that forming a team would automatically qualify them to represent Saga in the national playoffs, and rounds up his childhood buddy Onitsuka and a few boys in the predominantly female high school to form a boys’ softball team. They begin practicing to make their debut in the Nationals, BUT…nothing is ever that easy!! Laughter and tears abound in this original story of the final, bittersweet summer of a group of high school boys in an actual school in Saga Prefecture. You never know until you try!!
