- Synopsis
- After 20 years of wars between Athens and Sparta, a fragile peace has been established.
  
  Socrates tries to preserve this peace when he sequesters a ship loaded with weapons. However, because these weapons were aimed to help Sparta's enemies as a part of a covered Athenian military strategy, Socrates is mischievously accused of high treason and his political opponents ask for death penalty.
  
  The trial is fierce. In the middle of the trial, Plato, Socrates most wealthy supporter, turns against him.
  
  The reason of this is the amorous dispute that sparks when Socrates falls in love with Alcibiades, Plato's darling.
  
  Socrates loses the trial and he's facing death penalty.
  
  Socrate decides to use emotional blackmail to win Alcibiades. For the first time in his life, sentiments grow stronger than reason and Socrates' fate is sealed. He therefore refuses to escape prison.
  
  Socrates fails in this romantic poker game and he's therefore put to death.
  
  Alcibiades, feeling guilty for all that happened, commits suicide.
  
  Deeply moved, Plato decides to pay a tribute to this love that he stood against, so he decides to celebrate Socrates and Alcibiades by starting to write the famous philosophical dialogues that will build Socrates reputation for thousands of years.
