- Synopsis
- In a city in the English province, a group of boys between seventeen and nineteen take part to a party organized at the home of Giulia, a girl who studies modern dance at a famous School of which she is its first dancer. As often it happens there is some additional invitation and there is above all Philippe, the star of the evening: he has arrived with the new super-equipped Porsche of his stepfather (a wealthy entrepreneur in the construction sector) and the girls devour him their eyes, stirring envy and jealousy. It is a lively party but the obsessive presence and the compulsive use of smartphones makes it suitable to describe a generation of young people who live now no longer the present (reality) but the present as interpreted (photos, videos, posts) through the device to "capture" what happens to immediately share it with friends, obtaining wonder and consent. Someone, present at the party, makes a big bad joke with Philippe: secretly stolen the car keys, a couple of guys take his Porsche and have fun to violate every possible prohibition in the centre of the small city, looking for to accumulate as many fines as possible, and then return to the party, displaying an Olympian calm. The general idea is: do you act tony? Pay. In that same night the choreographer of the school, a pleasing and very courted woman, was found killed a few steps away from the place where Philippe accompanied her. Suspicions focus on the guy who started a relationship with the woman. The notification of the fines would seem to free Philippe from accusation, since the killing took place precisely in the time frame of the "hoax" against him, but for the police he remains the first suspect.
  Despite the intervention of the stepfather (who will pay the fines and take responsibility for the infractions) the position of the boy appears increasingly precarious: and therefore Philippe understands that only by becoming himself an investigator and completely revealing the mystery of the death of the choreographer he will be definitively freed from suspicion. In a succession of twists, the smartphone will be the instrument through which Philippe will solve the case, exonerating himself and handing the culprit to justice.
  The intent is to intercept multiple reading levels (and therefore a vast audience), bringing back the attention to the ultimate meaning of existences that are now increasingly disconnected from the simple but wonderful opportunities that life and time give, and describing a provincial and young reality in an adherent and captivating way, leaving open the possibility also of a possible series development; the background of the subject, in fact, is the micro cosmos of a school of English modern dance. Arts, fatigue, loves and disappointments weave on an environment full of hopes, doubts, expectations, pains that involve a close-knit group of boys and girls. It is a metaphor for life, with a touch of freedom and an artistic vocation that many young people dream of
